- Uploading and Posting Images

- Uploaded images will be considered by the administrator for posting.
- Images should only be posted with the permission of the copyright owner
- Images which in the view of the administrator do not have historical value will not be uploaded
- Images less than 10 years old which include children will only be uploaded with the written permission of a parent or guardian
- The copyright in uploaded images will be retained by the existing copyright holder, but it is assumed that the copyright holder releases site users and/or Holmes Chapel and District U3A (HC&D U3A) from any liability arising from:
- reproducing or modifying the images for use in connection with promotion of any event presented by HC&D U3A or its authorised agents
- reproducing or modifying the images for the purposes of research or private study undertaken by HC&D U3A members or its authorised agents
- making back-up copies of posted and modified images for the purpose of storage and/or archiving
- Photographs will not be ‘watermarked’ in order not to degrade the image
- Images are posted on the understanding that this web site is not for profit and no commercial advantage is gained.
- Updating Images

- New text information can be added to an existing image by the originator or a third party. This will need approval of the administrator. No original information or subsequent additions will be deleted except by the administrator.
- Downloading Images
- Images can be downloaded for personal use only. This includes use in reports or articles which are produced ‘not for profit’.
- Site Management and Ownership

- The site is owned by the HC&D U3A which is responsible for operation of the site
- The site will be managed on a day to day basis by the Local History Group of the HC&D U3A. The History Group will appoint the administrator to control registration and site activity.
- In the event that the Local History Group is closed down then the HC&D U3A will take over responsibility until suitable arrangements can be made.
- If day to day administration is no longer possible the site will be frozen and arrangements made to continue its operation without the facility to add new images.
- In the event that the HC&D U3A ceases to function the site will be deposited with the Congleton Museum.
