When the Home Guard was stood down, it was decided to have a parade in Northwich. Representatives from the 5th Cheshire Home Guard marched in the parade as one contingent. The photo was taken after the parade. This is backed up by the number (12) of officers sitting in the front row , distinguished by their open jacket collars showing their shirt and tie. Also, the RQMS is sitting 4th from left in the front row. As an HQ member, he wouldn't normally have paraded with one or two detachments.
