The view of London Road on the day of the Coronation lunch for King Charles 3rd on 7 May 2023. The road was closed for the afternoon and people brought a picnic on a sunny day.

The rear of this photo is marked Elizabeth Mandeville, the first Holmes Chapel May Queen. She was born in 1872, so this photo will be around 1880. She married Alfred Gater in 1901
"Grannie Mandeville started the first May Day celebrations in 1879 and Miss Elizabeth Mandeville was the first May Day Queen to be crowned." (Taken from The Cheshire Villages Book, written by members of the Cheshire Federation of Women's Institutes ).
